We are back. went through ugly break up and was in a pit of depression. slowly coming out of it. out of it with akshay kumar in his epic sexy Suhaag blue bikini shower scene. which is still the hottest scene in the history of Indian cinema. for lads of a certain persuasion, ladies and well, all really. tho he's older and heavier and not as sexy as he used to be - he hasn't worn a speedo in film in years now.
akshay kumar is our sbm icon and we still fall HARD for him. sigh

I was an assistant of the movie Suhaag and for your information I was there while the underwear shower scene with Akshay Kumar was being shot. Ash, you have only been praising this scene since a longtime and how sexy this scene is. But do you the real story. Let me tell you and share it with others too.
ReplyDeleteIn the script there was to be a scene where Akshay Kumar forgot to wear his pant and come out me meet his uncle who was talking to several ladies (the scene just after the shower scene). The scene was to start with Akshay Kumar coming out from the bathroom wearing a towel, put on his shirt only and come out to meet his uncle with a short which was long and close to his knees.
As you know that it was Mr Kuku Kohli who directed the movie who is also married to famous actress Aruna Irani. On the day of shoot, Mr Kuku Kohli fell ill and was hospitalised. In order not to interrupt the shoot he asked his AD Rishi Badain to continue shooting. Rishi was a person who was attracted to men also. He has a weakness of handsome men/hunks. So for that scene, since he was in charge in the absence of Mr Kohli he changed the scene completely. He shot an extensive shower scene with Akshay Kumar and I was present during the whole shoot. Initially, Akshay Kumar was wearing a short for the scene. But the AD, Mr Badain, gave him to wear a VERY SKIMPY BLACK REVEALING UNDERWEAR. Akshay Kumar was quite hesitant to wear that underwear and shoot this shower scene. But since at that time (in 1992), he was just a newcomer with NO hit movies and no Godfather, he was obliged to wear that underwear. In the first take of the scene in the bathtub, he wore that black underwear. But since the underwear was so small, that while shooting, a major part of both his asscheeks came out of the underwear (see the movement Akshay did in the bathtub). While viewing the shoot footage, 75% of his asscheek can be seen. I also viewed the footage. He requested the AD not to put this scene in the movie or to shoot again the scene wearing another underwear. Finally, after much insistance the AD agrees. Akshay waist size was L (large) but the AD gave a blue speedos of M (Medium) size. That's why you see that the underwear was so tight when Akshay Kumar wear it in the scene. Akshay had no choice but to wear that M blue speedos and shoot the scene. The scene was shot the whole day with 40 retakes. Akshay was in the blue speedos and wet the whole day. I was there each time giving him towel to wipe himself after each shower shoot.
I know this scene is being enjoyed by many men and women. But for Akshay Kumar it was not that easy.
So, Ash this is the true story behind this shower scene.
