Hemant Birje was the og fitness male model in India in the 1980s. He looked so hot, tan, taut in the Indian-ised, Bollywood-ised version of Tarzan.
But the acting chops were just not there. After the hit film, the leading lady--kimi kattkar--took off while Birje floundered. Now he's 60 - he was just 20 when he made Tarzan and was just the hottest man alive.
He blames nepo kids, film industry politics and everything else under the son for his lack of success in movies. Well, weak dialogue delivery, no acting chops per se, no dancing (a requirement in Bollywood!) and quite frankly, no movie star charm... He was just a tall good looking man, who didn't deliver a single hit after that film. He's appeared in 34 Indian films - can you name any apart from Tarzan?! Exactly. The industry accepts only success, otherwise all fade> Happens to outsiders and nep babies in equal measure. Deliver, or drop out!
