Its been 36 years since Maine Pyar Kiya released... Salman Khan was just 24 when he shot the film.
Maine Pyar Kiya was the highest-grossing Indian film of 1989 and the highest-grossing Hindi film of the 1980s. Made on a budget of around ₹2 crore, it earned over ₹28–30 crore domestically (and over ₹45 crore worldwide), making it one of the biggest all-time blockbusters in Indian cinema history relative to its production cost.
For many, those shirtless scenes, the famous poster of shirtless, hairy, fuzzy-chested Salman Khan in just jeans, unzipped jeans no less, with a full clad leading lady... was soooo iconic and... an awakening for a generation.
So many fans were breathless when they saw him.. He was sooo cute. sooo hot.
