He was tall, thin and cute and there was some charm to him. I was a fan of Love Story - not the JFK Jnr saga, but the musical rom com of Bollywood. Movie had amazing, amazing songs... And the young couple on film were so cute.

And they made it out to be such a big deal - with just a six year age gap! Z was and is just gorgeous. Young sexy Jackie Shroff was a new model turned actor. And he was hot as fk back then!

Hemant Birje was the og fitness male model in India in the 1980s. He looked so hot, tan, taut in the Indian-ised, Bollywood-ised version of Tarzan. 

But the acting chops were just not there. After the hit film, the leading lady--kimi kattkar--took off while Birje floundered. Now he's 60 - he was just 20 when he made Tarzan and was just the hottest man alive. 

He blames nepo kids, film industry politics and everything else under the son for his lack of success in movies. Well, weak dialogue delivery, no acting chops per se, no dancing (a requirement in Bollywood!) and quite frankly, no movie star charm... He was just a tall good looking man, who didn't deliver a single hit after that film. He's appeared in 34 Indian films - can you name any apart from Tarzan?! Exactly. The industry accepts only success, otherwise all fade> Happens to outsiders and nep babies in equal measure. Deliver, or drop out!

His ex and co-star of Love Story, eviscerated his career and boxoffice, reminding an audience that forgot about him, how "silver jubilee" Rajender Kumar's son, was a failure to launch despite innumerable attempts. 

We were fans back in the day. he was cute. fit. and not shy of wearing shorts and short shorts. ;0)
