He was thin, cute and a teen I guess when Love Story came out and just found him sooo sexy.

He's famously supposed to be one of the nicest guys in the industry - which you can't say about many stars of Bollywood.

India's Tarzan: Hemant Birje: 80s hunk and model

Mahurat - launch - of the Hindi retelling of Tarzan on March 28, 1985, director B Subhash!

For the title role the producer and director was looking for a new boy with a tough body and a soft face and despite calls from A-list stars wanting to play the part, Subhash settled for Hemant Birje who worked with a security outfit. After three months of training, he looked like a convincing ape man. “Hemant used to be a shy, young boy who for a particular scene got badly beaten up by the action director and the stuntmen. He showed me the scratches and bruises on his back and told me that now his captivity in the circus would look natural and convincing," recalls Subhash.

Hemant Birje and Kimi Katkar were the sexiest on screen couple of Bollywood in the mid 80s. All their shoots were so hot and sexy.

How strange to hear that Hemant was in fact quite shy - but he was like rarely dressed in any of his films or shoots. So hot. Such an amazing body. This is pre gym era and the fad of muscle men in Bollywood.

80s hunk and crush.

We sort of had a crush on him in the 80s - before he turned into an obese bloated reality tv judge. Good God what happened. He used to be so thin and fit and great dancer... And a great actor. But... hmm

Happy Birthday Govinda: Topless shots of the once-sexy Govinda

Govinda turns 57 today. When he first came to Bollywood, he was so refreshing, a young cute, boy next door with a lean and mean hot bod who could dance like a dream and overact - to suit Bollywood's 80s and 90s temperament..

Now.. oyve

Sadly his lack of discipline, spasms of self delusional grandeur (watch his Aap Ki Adaalat holy shit what a cluster fk of statements), his repeated failed comebacks...

Such a likeable personality and innate sweetness in him that's been corroded by the yes men around him. sad.

There are quick fixes to his career; get healthy (easier said than done), work with better writers and directors, accept the fact his hero - leading man days are over, work on roles to show case his acting prowess. Be it TV or ott platforms (the last resort for box-office-failing actors) ...

Sexy as hell Jackie Shroff in speedos for a cover shoot. The former model, uber hunk, was never shy. Had amazing personal style, body, looks and he was soooo photogenic. And not shy. The only actor to pose regularly with minimum clothes - the first actor to pose in a string bikini no less - and loads of shoots with implied nudity, Jackie Shroff is the ultimate 80s hunk.
