Lakshya started as a model before entering acting. He made his television debut in 2015 at age 19 with the MTV series Warrior High. He gained early recognition with roles in shows like Adhuri Kahaani Hamari (2015–2016) and Pardes Mein Hai Meraa Dil.
His breakthrough came with the lead role as the titular warrior Porus (Maharaj Purushottam/Puru) in the epic historical drama series Porus (2017–2018) on Sony TV — one of the most expensive Indian television productions at the time. This role made him a household name.
There was a time when TV actors were just NOT considered for films - Shahrukh Khan famously broke that glass ceiling and now several TV stars try to make it in movies. Funny thing is... we always question why? As a day rate, you make more money on TV, you get more fame from TV (cinema audiences are dwindling - and unless you're a Khan, Kumar or RRR.... not many are hitting theatres like they used to). Lkahsya made the big leap - and successfully.
He signed a three-film deal with Dharma Productions and transitioned to films. His feature film debut was the high-octane action thriller Kill (2024, premiered 2023 at TIFF), where he played Amrit Rathod, a commando fighting dacoits on a train. The film received critical acclaim for its brutal action sequences, and Lakshya won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut and the IIFA Star Debut of the Year (Male).
In 2025, he starred as aspiring actor Aasmaan Singh in the Netflix satirical drama series The Ba*ds of Bollywood (directed by Aryan Khan).
He has a busy lineup including these latest pics from Chand Mera Dil (opposite the vapid-talking daft but pretty Ananya Panday) — romantic drama, expected release around May 2026

Hemant Birje was the og fitness male model in India in the 1980s. He looked so hot, tan, taut in the Indian-ised, Bollywood-ised version of Tarzan.
But the acting chops were just not there. After the hit film, the leading lady--kimi kattkar--took off while Birje floundered. Now he's 60 - he was just 20 when he made Tarzan and was just the hottest man alive.
He blames nepo kids, film industry politics and everything else under the son for his lack of success in movies. Well, weak dialogue delivery, no acting chops per se, no dancing (a requirement in Bollywood!) and quite frankly, no movie star charm... He was just a tall good looking man, who didn't deliver a single hit after that film. He's appeared in 34 Indian films - can you name any apart from Tarzan?! Exactly. The industry accepts only success, otherwise all fade> Happens to outsiders and nep babies in equal measure. Deliver, or drop out!
