By no means a reliable study or science, especially as there are a vast number of the nation who are not on or active on Instagram; of the 1.3+ billion population about 800 million are Instagram users - if even that.
Keeping all that in mind; here's a list of the Top Ten hottest Bollywood hunks with the most followers on social media, in statistical order as of April 2020. There are some surprises and some notable absences (Ranbir Kapoor is not officially on Instagram and other stars of a certain generation that are dormant or unaware altogether of the addictive online sensation).

We scrolled all the way to his earliest posts and couldn't find a hot ab-shot! But then, during the peak of his popularity - a decade ago - he wasn't on Instagram either. We know for a fact his popularity is manifold and the numbers here do him no justice. At 50+ he's still one hot daddy cool.
7. TIGER SHROFF
Hear the roar of Tiger Shroff - 21 million people do! The always shirtless hunk with the finest abs in the country, the coolest dance moves, Tiger Shroff posts so often on insta stories... of course he's high on the list here. His engagement posts are high. He rarely wears a shirt, is super active AND interactive; he poses short highly watchable dance clips, his work out shots, his body inspiration, his motivational quotes; he plugs his hot hot girlfriend too (hitting all the demographics and genders) + there's a genuine warmth and niceness that emanates even from his highly active media account.
He's sexy but safe... if you know what I mean...
AND we lie in perpetual hope he'll wear a speedo or swimsuit someday for a NSFW post. One can dream of dreamy Tiger Shroff's hot hot bod. Roar again.

All his directors are in love with him, his contemporaries fan out on him, his juniors openly unabashedly say they have a man-crush on Hrithik Roshan and if ever they were going to swing the other way, it would only be for hot hot hot Hrithik Roshan.

We are a little tired of the happy-family-Hum-Saath-Saath-Hain vibe of his insta' and wish he'd get a bit more sexy and hot like he was in Udta Punjab or Kabir Singh or any of his more serious movies where he was seriously sexy....

Iskta time toh aa gaya... Ranveer Singh with 30.8 million followers. No surprises. He's hot, quirky, the girls and gays wanna see his sexy shots, the fashionistas want to check out his fking mental insane dress sense - which is mostly Govinda-lite but with Western designer labels and better stitching!!
He's fun, he's funny, he can be drop dead sexy, he has a vibe about him that says no judgement, he's done it all... Plus no matter how high he climbs, he remembers his roots. He's the star who just made it... and isn't a dick about it.
And of course the first official contemporary Bollywood hunk to go fully nude on screen and in photo-shoots (scroll back for refs!) he's the millennial movie star. Looks, talent, body, abs, acting, dancing.. and God damn his wife is fking gorgeous too. Even we look at her twice!!

Considering his first encounter with fame was as a speedo-clad model in an advert, the boy has been stripping on cam for four decades now. He's always been hot, fit, half naked.

SBM icon Akshay Kumar with 38.6 million followers is SBM king of Kings with the MOST amount of followers on social media. Well on insta' - we haven't done the math on cumulative number adding Twitter, Facebook, tick Tock, Tumblr... etc etc.
Hear that marketeers and trend viewers?! At age 52, he has double the number of followers stars half his age have. That's a collective fan club that's grown in numbers with age and longevity with Kumar.
BTW - we know these numbers and positioning will change this year - hell, it might change this month. But as we went to publish this was the status quo.
I think you should do away with the Khans and Akshay Kumar from the list. TBH, they are all well past their hotness. They are megastars, some of the biggest in the history of filmmaking anywhere and that is reflected in their insta numbers too. Just that. That aside, the captions are really the essence of this post. In total agreement with a lot of things said here. About John doing more sexy thrillers (btw, who are the other two hottest men a/c to you? ), About Sid being the sexiest sexiest most gorgeous handsome man in the industry today who must follow in the footsteps of VD and TS and strip a lot more. Also it's high high time he did a sexy racy peppy full fledged shirtless number. Shahid is the hottest dilf hands down, nobody comes close. Not even Hrithik who for some reason doesn't give me the dilf feel. He is hot alright but just not a dilf, well not to me. I hope sushant too was included in the list but his sm is not very Bollywood celebrity-esque.
