Milind Soman: the origin story

Every time we see Made in India by Alisha, we wait for the moment Milind Soman's nipples appear on the screen...

Such a breathtakingly beautiful brown man...

Brace yourself - born on November 4, 1965, Milind Soman is 60 years old!!!!

He transitioned from an electrical engineering student into India’s first male supermodel before expanding his career into acting, production, and fitness ambassadorship.

Soman unexpectedly entered modeling in 1988–1989 after being approached by a casting director for a print advertisement. Unaware that modeling was a formal career, he accepted his first gig when offered ₹50,000 for a single hour of shoot time—a staggering amount for a beginner at the time. He swiftly became one of the most sought-after faces in Indian fashion, eventually achieving pop-culture immortality in 1995 after starring in Alisha Chinai’s wildly popular music video "Made in India".

Over a career spanning more than two decades, Milind Soman has appeared in over 30 feature films across Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, and international cinema:

Hindi Cinema: He made his feature film debut in Tarkieb (2000) and went on to star in memorable films such as 16 December (2002), Agni Varsha (2002), Rules: Pyaar Ka Superhit Formula (2003), Bheja Fry (2007), Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani (2015), Chef (2017), and Emergency.

Regional Cinema: He gained acclaim in South Indian and Marathi films, including Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Tamil action-thrillers Pachaikili Muthucharam (2007) and Paiyaa (2010), alongside critically acclaimed Marathi projects like Gandha (2009) and Astu - So Be It (2013).

International Cinema: Soman represented Indian talent on global screens, notably starring in Pan Nalin’s French-German-Indian production Valley of Flowers (2006) and playing Saladin in the Swedish epic films Arn: The Knight Templar (2007) and Arn: The Kingdom at the End of the Road (2008).

He did a few nude scenes in his Western films - he's never been shy of taking clothes off on camera - look at that damn hot body! But his naked film scenes have mostly been for the Western gaze, not the Indian... gays. lol

He still has some time to do some really sexy shots on film - Indian producers and directors need to lean in on his raw sexuality...
